Therapy with Sharanya

Support that meets where you are.

Sharanya Shukla

About Me

Hi, I’m Sharanya, an RCI- licensed Clinical Psychologist Associate.
I’ve spent the past five years working with people who are learning to understand themselves better and make sense of their experiences.

In our sessions, I believe in keeping an open, collaborative mindset as therapy works best when it’s built together. I bring empathy, curiosity and genuine acceptance into the space, where every part of you is welcome, without judgment.

My approach is grounded and reflective, tailored to meet your needs and help you reconnect with your purpose.

If you’re here, you’ve already taken the first step, and I’d be glad to walk this journey with you.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

DBT focuses on teaching people skills to manage intense emotions, cope with challenging situations, and improve their relationships.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

ACT encourages acceptance, mindfulness, and living by your values.

Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy

Helps people identify and change irrational beliefs and thought patterns that lead to emotional distress and self-defeating behaviors.

Solution Focused Brief Therapy

A goal-oriented, short-term approach that concentrates on a client's strengths and future possibilities rather than on past problems

Exposure and Response Prevention

A type of cognitive behavioural therapy that is considered the first-line treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

Trauma focused therapy

Helps individuals process traumatic experiences and cope with their lasting effects on mental, emotional, and physical well-being

Behavioural

Therapy

A type of therapy that focuses on changing learned, unhealthy behaviors using rewards, consequences, and practice.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing (MI) is a method used to help people who are unsure about changing, by encouraging and motivating them to take action.

Psychological assessment

In some cases, assessments may be recommended to gain deeper insights into emotional, cognitive, or personality functioning. These are conducted using standardized tools and tailored to each client’s needs. Details about the process will be discussed during consultation.

The Therapy Journey

Step 1: Once you reach out, we respond within 1-2 working days to schedule the first session

Step 2: The first session focuses on understanding your background, current concerns, and what you’d like to work toward. We’ll set broad goals together.

Step 3: Sessions are held once a week (or as discussed). Together, we explore thoughts, emotions, and patterns, using evidence-based approaches like CBT or DBT. Each session builds on the last.

Step 4: Over time, we’ll review your progress and make adjustments to ensure therapy continues to support your goals.

Step 5: When you feel ready, we’ll plan the closure process and discuss how you can continue your growth outside therapy.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between a Clinical Psychologist and a Psychiatrist?

A clinical psychologist helps you understand and manage emotional or behavioral difficulties through therapy and assessment.
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can prescribe medication and focuses on the medical treatment of mental health conditions.

  • How long does each session last?

Individual sessions last about 50 minutes, while couple sessions are usually for 75 minutes.

  • How often should I attend sessions?

Most people start with weekly sessions, and we adjust the frequency as you progress.

  • Are the sessions online or offline?

We currently offer online sessions only, so you can connect from the comfort of your own space.

  • Is therapy confidential?

Yes, therapy is confidential. Information is only shared in rare situations—such as when there is concern for your safety or the safety of others.

  • What should I do in case of a crisis or emergency?

This is not a crisis or emergency service. If you’re in immediate distress or danger, please reach out to a local helpline or emergency service for immediate support. If you are in immediate distress or thinking about harming yourself, please reach out for immediate support — you can contact your nearest hospital, call AASRA (91-9820466726) or Vandrevala foundation(9999666555).

Sessions are offered in both English and Hindi, depending on your comfort and preference.
